Theatre of Oppressed
Usually, when you are watching a theatre act, you will sit quietly, and not speak a word, or at least answer if the actors asked you a question. However, Augusto Boal's theatre is different. "Without discipline, theres no social life; without freedom, theres no life." At his theatre, he allows the audience to speak up their opinions on how to improve the act at the end of the act. Audience can stop the actor, and suggest different actions for them to act during the play. The actor will then follow the audience's suggestion and act it out.
After a time, where a actor is pissed off because he/she does not understand the audience's opinion, Augusto Boal then decided to have a change. He decided that the audience that suggested improvements should demonstrate he/she's idea. He had then discovered that the audience can 'not only' have the power to 'rule' the play, but also reflect on the suggestions on their daily life.
